Adding More Expertise to Research Center

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Knight Transportation Inc., recognized by Forbes as one of the “top 200 best small companies” for the past 12 consecutive years, has joined the board of the Supply Chain Management Research Center in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas.

Tim Kohl, president of Knight Transportation, will represent the company on the Supply Chain Management Research Center board. Kohl said “We feel honored to have been asked to join the UA Supply Chain Management Research Management Center board and be able to participate with the University of Arkansas SCMRC management and such a distinguished group of companies. We plan on being an active contributing member, and see this as an opportunity to continue learning and improving our service in the supply chain network.”

Even as the government continues to delay the decision to allow FDI in multi-product retail chains, the fast-emerging Indian retail sector is becoming widely recognised amongst domestic entrepreneurs and investors as one of the biggest opportunities in India.

Apart from existing players (such as Pantaloon) ramping up their retail chain store operations, many large business groups, including Reliance Industries, Birla group, and Tata group have announced their intention to cumulatively invest over $10 billion over the next five years to capture a share in the fast-growing pie of the organised retail sector.
