Sockeye Supply Chain, a provider of supply chain software solutions, today announced the addition of a direct sales team to help further the company’s business growth and cultivate new business relationships. Joining the new sales team are David Shobrook, who will serve as East Coast sales director, and Gaurav Chhabra, who will serve as a field applications engineer. Sustainable Business Forum to Help Manage Supply Chain Issues
May 30, 2007As a way of helping companies turn their sustainability goals into action, the Rainforest Alliance has created a Sustainable Business Forum, which brings business leaders together with sustainability experts to create supply chains for these products.
The SBF is a corporate membership program that gives companies one-on-one support from dedicated Rainforest Alliance staffers to research the most environmentally friendly ways of sourcing products, develop programs to bring these products to market in the most effective and cost-saving ways, and communicate the programs and successes.
Supply-chain challenges debated at SAJ’s Lunch and Learn seminar
May 30, 2007Last week’s Lunch and Learn seminar on ‘The Missing Link in Jamaica’s Supply Chain’ proved to be a thought-provoking session for all shipping professionals who were in attendance. Staged by the Shipping Association of Jamaica (SAJ), the seminar was held on Tuesday, May 22 at the SAJ’s Newport West offices with a multimedia presentation by Fritz Pinnock, executive director of the Caribbean Maritime Institute.
Participants were also addressed by Chris Kennedy, managing director of Eagle & Whale Limited, and Nadia Fong, sales and marketing manager of Jamaica Trading Services Limited, joint sponsors of the seminar.
Double honours for Access Supply Chain at leading manufacturing IT Awards
May 30, 2007Access Supply Chain and two of its customers, Plymouth Gin and Crosby Kitchens, have won major honours at the 2007 Best of British Manufacturing IT Awards.
The companies were presented with their awards in front of an audience of senior manufacturers at a ceremony, held this week at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon, Warwickshire. Distiller, Plymouth Gin was the winner of the category for ‘best use of IT in supply chain management’, while Sheffield-based kitchen manufacturer, Crosby Kitchens, was highly commended in the category for ‘best use of IT in manufacturing and business management’.
