But over the past year, many of these companies have come back with solid growth and higher stock prices.

Supply Chain Specialty Moves to 13th in U.S. News Survey
August 29, 2007The U.S. News & World Report’s annual college guide has rated the supply chain management and logistics specialty in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas in a tie for 13th place among all undergraduate business schools and in a tie with Indiana University at Bloomington (Kelly) for ninth place among all public universities.
In U.S. News last year, the Walton College supply chain management and logistics specialty was ranked in a tie for 19th place overall and 14th among all public universities.

Entire supply chain needs to pay service tax, finance ministry says
August 29, 2007New Delhi: In an effort to ensure that all services provided by suppliers to customers are charged, the finance ministry has said the entire supply chain of Indian companies will have to pay tax on the value of their input services. The ministry clarified this in a circular issued on Thursday.
Program management review provides update on Global Logistics Support Center
August 29, 2007Supply chain partners and customers came together here Aug. 15-16 as part of the Global Logistics Support Center’s (Provisional Office) first major program management review.
The Global Logistics Support Center (Provisional Office), or GLSC(P), is an Air Force Materiel Command Direct Reporting Unit that reports directly to the AFMC commander. The Provisional Office stood up here May 7 and is tasked with standing up the permanent GLSC capability, which will become the single process owner for Air Force supply chain management.
