Three former Warner Robins Air Logistics Center commanders have mixed opinions about a sweeping Air Force Materiel Command reorganization that calls for in-place transfer of about 1,000 Robins Air Force Base supply, contracting and technical workers to a new center headquartered at Scott Air Force Base, Ill.
Tom Scott, president of the American Federation of Government Employees Local 987 – the bargaining unit for most civilian workers at Robins Air Force Base – is more blunt. He said the shift will diminish the local center, an economic engine that produces thousands of jobs and billions of impact dollars each year.
