The second largest Coke bottler in the U.S. market has upgraded its supply chain management solutions from JDA Software as part of an effort to improve forecast accuracy, customer service levels, order fill rates and on-time deliveries.
Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated, with 6,000 employees and $1.4 billion in annual revenue, has upgraded its JDA Software SCM solutions to Version 7.4, including JDA Demand, JDA Fulfillment and JDA Transportation Planning, all “powered by Manugistics.”
JDA said its Supply Chain Optimization and Transportation & Logistics Management solutions allow companies to respond rapidly to shifts in consumer demand, as well as manage, optimize and execute the strategic, operational and tactical business processes that transform the supply chain into a strategic differentiator.

The reasons for failure of new application solution implementation include lack of management support, inadequate training and not enough thorough testing.
While these grounds appear legitimate, it seems that the biggest factor in the collapse of supply chain management (SCM) implementation is relegated to the back page. That factor is change — the type of change inflicted on an organization with little regard for how greatly it will impact the people and processes that serve as the engine of the business.
